| Tasting Notes: | Our estate Zinfandel expresses the more feminine side of the variety, perhaps due to the gentleness of the growing season. The nose smells of candied violets and black cherries. The mouth is very pretty and surprisingly soft. |
| Production Notes: | The three clones of Zinfandel at Kuleto Estate are planted between 1200 and 1400 feet in a small bowl containing the only deep red soil on the property. The head-trained vines face gently to the northeast, avoiding late afternoon sun and warm winds. The deep roots also allow the vines to draw on moisture during the most stressful time of the season. Our unique situation produces fruit that is intensely varietal but without the monstrous tannins often associated with mountaintop Zinfandel. |
